Given that the analysis of style of Solzhenitsyn’s speech patterns has been constrained in literary criticism. It is the purpose of the article to compare the Nobel lectures of the writers representing different literatures and cultures. In accordance with the contemporary geopolitical relationship between neighboring countries, the current research objectives are to identify the attitude of the Nobel laureates towards the issue of the writer’s responsibility, towards the significance of literature in the spiritual education of society, towards the issue of the author and the main character. The originality of the issue framed in the article is emphasized by applying the comparative textual analysis of the speeches made by the writers, the representatives of Russian and Chinese literature, at different times. The results of the analysis are the identification of common features in the writers’ artistic creed, revealing their unity and comprehension of the humanistic nature of artistic creativity. The correlation between the personal positions of the Russian and Chinese novelists enables to conclude about the writers’ originality and individuality.
